The Devastating Flood in Johor
The flood in Johor had ravaged more than half of the state and had left a trail of devastation in its wake. Amidst the chaos, however, a glimmer of hope shines through as Malaysians from all corners of the country came together to lend a helping hand. the outpouring of support and compassion from individuals and communities that truly exemplifies the spirit of unity and resilience that defines the country. In response to this crisis, DAP Johor has taken the initiative to establish a flood disaster relief committee, spearheaded by a dedicated team led by myself, to provide aid and support to those affected by the flood in a more organized and effective manner. Together, let us stand united and bring comfort to those who have been impacted by this calamity.

DAP Johor had quickly organised our leaders and members into immediate relief work to the affected communities. We collected and sent food, supplies and clean drinking water to the temporary shelters where many of the flood victims lost a clean place to rest sought refuge. Therefore, we also provide mattresses and other necessary items to ensure they could rest comfortably during this difficult time.

The second phase after a flood is the crucial cleaning-up process to restore affected areas to their previous state. This stage requires an army of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to clean up debris, mud, and damaged infrastructure.

DAP Johor's volunteers selflessly dedicated their time and efforts to clean the debris and garbage. It was not an easy task, however, with the determination and hard work of all the volunteers, an enormous impact had been made.

In Chaah, DAP Johor's volunteers managed to clean up a staggering 1,106 tons of rubbish in only 5 days.
Last Phase
Rehabilitate and Rebuild
After the initial relief and clean-up process, the third phase of flood management begins. This phase of rehabilitate and rebuild involves long-term efforts to help affected families to recover and rebuild their lives.

DAP Johor will continue to support the flood victims by coordinating cheaper electrical appliances and furnitures for those families that had damaged things due to the flood. We will also help them repaint their homes and restore those who had damaged wooden houses. We understand that many of the families have lost a lot due to the flood, we will do our best to help them recover as quickly as possible.

This phase requires sustained effort and support from both government and community to ensure that affected victims are able to recover and regain their normal lives.
My Sincere Words
Through all the efforts, I hope that we bring hope and comfort to the affected families and help them to get back to their normal lives. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to countless volunteers who stepped up bravely and selflessly, willing to roll up their sleeves and help those in need. I would also like to thank donors that donate not only money but also supplies and food to support our work in providing relief to the victims, your generosity and kindness have made a real difference. Without all of you, the recovery process would have been much harder and longer. Through this disaster, I feel the strength and resilience of the Malaysian spirit and it has shown us that we are capable of coming together and supporting each other, even in the toughest of times. I hope that the government should face squarely the issues including climate change, deforestation, clogged drainage and rivers, etc.
Let us continue to stand together and support each other as we move forward from this disaster. Together, we can rebuild and make our country stronger than ever before.
I will continue to work for the well-being of all Johoreans.
